Post and Go Stamps Update: Museums, Tariff and Perth Congress

Royal Mail Press Release

Royal Air Force Museum Cosford
Royal Mail is pleased to announce that Post and Go Machine A008 will go live at the RAF Museum in Cosford on 8 March 2016. Machin and Union Flag stamps will carry a ‘Royal Air Force’ identifier together with the RAF Roundel logo.

--------------

An announcement about RAF Museum Hendon is expected soon.

--------------

Meanwhile, the machine at the Fleet Air Arm Museum Yeovilton was dispensing a bonus blank label at the start of each strip.  Thanks to Trevor for these pictures.

--------------

With the change in postage rates on 29 March 2016 the Europe 20/World 10 stamp will cost £1.05 and the 1st, 1st Large, 2nd and 2nd Large stamps will increase by 1p each.  This means that the cost of a collectors strip of 6 will rise from £7.68 to £7.75, and a collectors set of 36 from £46.08 to £46.50 (not as stated on Royal Mail's PandG webpage).  Bureau packs and sets of 6 x 1st class will rise from £3.78 to £3.84, and 2nd class sets will rise by 2p from £1.28 to £1.30

--------------

I understand that the annual Scottish Philatelic Congress will take place once again at Perth, this year on 15-16 April.  Royal Mail machines will dispense Machins and Union Flags(!) - apparently from TWO machines, though this hardly seems necessary if they both have the same stamps - and Jersey Post will also have their machine dispensing Jersey Crest and Jersey Flag stamps.  It is likely that the additional inscription will be something like: '87th Scottish Congress 2016'

  1. The 2016 exhibition programme has been added to RM' P&G page, rather sparce when compared to previous years.
