Details of the Football Heroes isssue, including pictures of the definitives from the Prestige Stamp book - which we now know has self-adhesive footballers in - are here.
The picture of the 1st class stamp in the "Queen's Portaits" set has now been released and can be seen here.
We have images of the Perth Congress Faststamps and will add these when there is time.
There are also some more new Machin definitives but we don't have all details or images yet. To whet your appetites here is the first of the new high value printings - remember these haven't been printed since 2009 when they were in cylinders of 6 panes, ie 3 guttered sheets of 50. Now the £2 has been printed in a cylinder of 12* panes/sheets of 25 stamps.

With De La Rue's MA13 code, and - we're told - with no date or sheet number in the margin. It seems that DLR still haven't got all their kit in order - or else Royal Mail have told them that this data is no longer necesssary.
UPDATE 16 May
I haven't seen the £2 stamp yet, but judging by the picture on Ebay, I think that the cylinder for these produces 12 panes at a time, not 8.
ReplyDeleteSo it would seem. I haven't seen them yet and hadn't seen the Cylinder block on eBay.
DeleteInformation from Royal Mail suggested that Left and Right positions 1/2/3/4 were available - perhaps they didn't notice Middle 1/2/3/4 or perhaps they have all gone to PO branches!
I don't think that the £1.50; £2.00; £3.00 and £5.00 stamps are sold in Post Office branches anymore.
DeleteI want to thank you for following '''and sharing''' all these British news on this blog, despite, as you write, the difficult task of putting a blog up to date and searchable. Thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteHave tried to order this new £2.00 from the Bureau today (21/May). My "Operative" said he had no record of it on his stock list (only the 2009 issue). Does anyone have the Bureau stock number?

Michael, Tallents House do not identify the different years' products and do not sell them separately. They have never done this, hence nobody has been able to buy 2010-, 2011-, or 2012-coded stamps from them either.
DeleteThey are available from PO branches and will be available from Tallents House if they include them in the stock of FS029.
Tried my local Saffron Walden P.O. and they too do not stock the £1.50; £2.00; £3.00; or £5.00. So not available through the Bureau or my local P.O.!!

High values are available from the Bureau, though you can't be certain which £2 version you would get.
ReplyDeleteStock codes are FS150, FS200, FS300 and FS500
