# - There is one machine at Farringdon PO and three at Ludgate Circus (see below).  It's suggested that these will be the last four in operation (at least it will make maintenance easier; the engineer can just take his sleeping bag!).

Thanks to Anonymous for providing this. The timetable seems to ensure that no Wincor-Nixdorf machines will dispense any 2105 Faststamp issues, if the POL suggestion that Farrington and Tudor Street will be last to close is right.

Dear Customer
Ludgate Circus Post and Go service
Tudor Street, London, EC4Y 0AA
Proposed Permanent Closure

I’m writing to let you know that we are proposing to permanently close the Ludgate Circus Post and Go facility, which offers basic postal services and postage to customers.

Our contract with our existing supplier is coming to an end which means that the Post and Go machines at this location will be withdrawn from service in February 2015. Alongside this, since the facility opened in 2009 there has been a significant decline in customer usage which means that this type of service is no longer commercially viable in this location, either for Post Office Ltd or the Postmaster who operates the service on our behalf.

We have looked at a number of options that would provide a viable alternative, but we have been unable to find suitable premises in the area to accommodate a Post Office, either from existing nearby retailers or from potential new operators willing to take on vacant premises.
Post Office services in the area

We have therefore reviewed our services in this part of London and we are satisfied that the five Post Office branches which are all within a mile radius of this facility will be able to meet customer demand in the area. Details of the three nearest branches, all just over half a mile away, at Blackfriars Road, Aldwych and Farringdon Road, along with other branches in the area that customers may find convenient, are provided below.

Some of the branches such as Blackfriars Road and Aldwych have recently benefited under our modernisation programme, providing an improved environment for customers. These branches also offer enhanced facilities such as self-service kiosks where customers can pay for postage and send most mail items, including Special Delivery and Signed For items, without having to queue at the main counter. Also available at these branches is our free-to-join Drop and Go service, where customers can hand over their mail and pay with a prepaid Drop andGo card; more information on this service can be found on our website.

    2. I presume from the list above that Hastings WHS has also lost its kiosks.
Wonder whether Holloway will ever work before it is withdrawn, at least Brent Park has been put out of its misery !!!!!!

    4. I did this an here is the reply I got (edited to the relevant point)

We take all complaints seriously, therefore I have contacted the Branch Manager for further clarification. The Branch Manager has confirmed that a decision was made to switch off the kiosk after there were several problems with the kiosk, which included connectivity issues, and at the moment the Post and Go kiosk is currently ‘out of order’. He has assured me that both the owner of the branch and Post Office Ltd are aware of this and are currently discussing the on-going issues. The Branch Manager has asked me to pass on his sincere apologies for the inconvenience that this matter is causing. Please rest assured that everything possible is being done to try and resolve this matter as quickly as possible.

  4. Chesterfield (WH Smith) SHOULD be NCR by now. When I visited last Friday they were still Wincor but were expecting NCR machines to be installed shortly.

  6. Visited Crewe yesterday, Wincor-Nixdorf still working but a bit temperamental would not accept debit cards or £10 notes, only coins and £5 notes. Dispensing Machins MA13 - Stuart

  7. I wonder if the omission of any mention of self service/post & Go kiosk is indicative that Farringdon Road won’t get a NCR replacements (Blackfriars Road & Aldwych have these mentioned), or is it just poor drafting of the letter (Office code given is for King’s Walk and incorrect addresses for Farringdon Rd, Grays Inn & Moorgate).

Who knows they may re-open it as one of their digital offices

  8. All three of Tudor Street’s machine working this morning, all had MA12 Robin. Farringdon Road’s machine has been switched off.

026007 Walworth Road has 2 NCR machines (Since September) both had Winter Greenery
008008 Ferndale Road (Brixton) both NCRs have Winter Greenery
Both Walworth Road & Ferndale Road have an X after the 6 digit branch/FAD code and both Branches have the bill payment & Top up functions on the machines enabled.

  9. Visited Kidderminster, Winter Greenery in their Wincor.
Ditto for Crewe (machine not accepting debit card).
NCR machines in Oldham - Winter Greenery and MA13 Machins (1st class)
Finally, Keighley's Wincor has MA13 Machins but with the old font for the Europe up to 20g (not Euro 20g/World 10g)

  10. Tudor Street has been given it’s own branch code 701003. Presumably this is only for administrative purposes related to the proposed closure, whether it is applied to the machines remains to be seen.

  12. I know I’ve got a cheek, is there any chance you could seek an update of the list of remaining Wincor-Nixdorf list with a view to seeing if the working sail P&G issue will be theoretically available from them. I’ve tried and failed, was told to use branch finder.
