The UK way is 'lots of the same' for each issue whereby the German way gives the ability to cover lots of different subjects each month.Neilnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-61379575088648114.post-30086204083967874362022-06-09T05:22:31.228+01:002022-06-09T05:22:31.228+01:00NumisRob, some countries have done this. Likewise Australia has done this for issues aimed at kids or when there were large issues. However, you can't half a 1st class stamp, and I'd suggest that 5p or 10p stamps would potentially cost more to produce and distribute (including printing, sending to post offices, and selling the stamps).Chris de Haerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01103852699388056651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-61379575088648114.post-3260838811626251042022-06-05T16:54:40.107+01:002022-06-05T16:54:40.107+01:00Rob,

In the 70's, 80's & 90's most sets consisted of between 4 and 6 stamps and the cost of such an issue was bearable. Now we have reached 95p for a 1st Class stamp, it really is time to limit the number of stamps issued per event being commemorated and to cut out the unnecessary additional Miniature Sheet which appears now with most issues. Otherwise collectors are just going to be switched off by the initial outlay. I will be interested to see if the present economic problems really will have an effect on those who plan the new issue programmes and if we might see a cut back in these unnecessary issues.White Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17968199477827266643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-61379575088648114.post-35098119027911598092022-05-31T15:56:05.090+01:002022-05-31T15:56:05.090+01:00The stamps and the collectors sheet are all displa...The stamps and the collectors sheet are all displayed on the WOPA order site.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-61379575088648114.post-45305624906145055892022-05-30T08:42:12.232+01:002022-05-30T08:42:12.232+01:00Doug thank you very much I should be used to RM an...Doug thank you very much I should be used to RM anomalies by now!petemkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04444483566044974093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-61379575088648114.post-63445384979707829052022-05-30T06:33:56.960+01:002022-05-30T06:33:56.960+01:00Doug (Enfield). reply to petemk. If you look at the "First" publication for stamp sets the part number always ends '00' - e.g. have look at the Cats part numbers.(First shows AS8600 in the description section and also in the order section but my order advice shows AS8602).
