This year marks the 75th anniversary of the publication of C.S Lewis’ timeless classic ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’, part of the classic fantasy series ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’. The series is set in the fictional realm of Narnia, a fantasy world of magic, mythical beasts and talking animals. It narrates the adventures of various children who play central roles in the unfolding history of the Narnian world.
The Chronicles of Narnia is considered a classic of children's literature and is Lewis's best-selling work, having sold 120 million copies in 47 languages. The series has also been adapted for radio, television, the stage, film, and video games.
The set of 8 x 1st Class stamps are illustrated by Keith Robinson, a British illustrator of children and young adult books, who was commissioned especially for this stamp issue.

Magnificent - much better than anticipated. Too many choices!
ReplyDeleteStunning collection, really beautiful artwork - I'll definitely be using these. Just a shame RM didn't issue 50/50 1st & 2nd as they (almost) promised earlier in the year. Nevertheless a great issue
ReplyDeleteA nice set - I especially like the Miniature Sheet. Shame I won't be purchasing as I hardly see the point in using a 1st Class stamp considering their price. Why are these sets all 1st Class now? Did I miss something? Have RM promised to adhere to 50/50 sets moving forward, per above comments?
ReplyDeleteUnlikely that RM will do mixed sets 50/50-too much money to make out of making them all 1st class unfortunately, I think the letter they sent to customers was a bit of a red herring as I think we all knew that the sets would be predominately 1st class as the revenue will be higher for them
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that many of these so far issued would have been printed before that announcement - although you are probably correct.
DeleteThis is a nice set, love the stamps on the miniature sheet. I'm hoping the Peanuts collection uses the same idea which makes the 75th Anniversary of Peanuts with Snoopy and the rest of the gang.
